Located in a privileged setting, Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa is a benchmark in golf tourism in Spain. Founded in the 1970s by Californian golfer Gregory Peters, the resort has consolidated its prestige over the last 50 years, distinguishing itself as an exclusive destination where golf is an essential part of its DNA.
A great visionary, Peters appointed renowned golfer Gary Player as Director of Golf, followed by names such as Manuel Ballesteros and Victor Garcia. The courses have been complemented by a hotel, apartments, a football centre and a racquets club with 28 tennis courts and, most recently, new paddle tennis courts and a refurbished gym.
At the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa, sports are a fundamental part of the destination, but golf is undoubtedly the king. Its three 18-hole courses have hosted numerous tournaments, including the International Maritime Cup and the Celebrity Pro Am, where legends such as Sean Connery and Tony Jacklin have played.
South Course
Designed by Robert Dean Putman in 1971 and remodelled in 2005 by the legend Arnold Palmer, The South Course has been the venue for many major professional tournaments, including several Spanish Opens, PGA Championships, for both men and women. At almost 6,500 metres from the white tees, it has water hazards on 15 of its 18 holes, wide fairways and a good combination of short and long holes.
North Course
Also designed in 1971 by Robert Dean Putman. Palm trees, lakes and natural storm gullies known as ‘barrancos’ are key features of the North Course, which is slightly shorter than the South, with tighter fairways and larger greens. This design by Robert Pulman is ideal course for all types of players.
West Course
This course, designed by Dave Thomas, is set in a dense pine forest at the foot of the Calblanque Natural Park. The West Course, with its frequent changes in elevation, offers a different set of challenges. The front nine demand accurate driving to avoid the ‘barrancos’ (natural storm gullies), while the back nine, up amongst the hills, are more open but nonetheless challenging.
The Real Golf La Manga Club Clubhouse is located in the heart of the resort. Here, golfers and visitors can enjoy an exclusive atmosphere in the 37 Sports & Spike Bar with spectacular panoramic views of the North Course and the practice range, located on the first floor of the clubhouse.
The renovated Pro Shop at the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa, one of the largest hotel golf shops in the world, offers a wide selection of the most prestigious brands of clothing and equipment. The fully refurbished space is a haven for golf enthusiasts looking for the latest trends and technology. The shop also offers personalised service to ensure a unique shopping experience.
After a round of golf, guests can relax in the Alma’ Spa, a wellness centre inspired by Andalusian hammams and designed to provide an oasis of peace and tranquillity. The resort’s culinary offerings are complemented by 12 bars and restaurants offering everything from international cuisine to the most authentic flavours of Mediterranean gastronomy, prepared with fresh local produce.
The resort and its privileged surroundings invite you to enjoy a combination of sports, wellness and gastronomy. Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa offers a range of golf packages with special offers for five, three or two nights, or simply a weekend break.
