La Cala Resort is constant improvement to achieve higher and higher quality standards in all its facilities, especially in its three 18-hole golf courses, Asia, America and Europe.
With this philosophy La Cala Resort has succeeded in positioning as one of the most important golf resorts in the Costa del Sol and Andalucía. Its three 18-hole golf courses designed by Cabell Robinson and an academy located next to the six-hole par three golf course are the jewel in the crown. But, in addition, its facilities include a hotel with spa, football pitch and various sports facilities built to FIFA technical specifications and it is the only one of its kind with an 8-kilometre running circuit.
With natural, undulating backdrops of trees and flowers, rich with wildlife, La Cala’s superb 54-hole resort offers an idyllic rural retreat just 20 minutes from Marbella and only 30 minutes from Malaga airport and is the perfect base for exploring Andalusia and Spain’s fascinating cultural cities.
Designed by famous golf course architect Cabell Robinson, La Cala offers three superb championship courses, Asia, America and Europe, each one presenting unique challenges and breath-taking views of the stunning Andalusian countryside. After the completion of a final phase of golf course improvements, all 54 holes at La Cala have been upgraded to improve the overall playability and experience.
These alterations have improved the aesthetics of the course while having a positive environmental impact. The remodelled bunkers are more accessible for the raking machines and require less trimming, reducing machinery and fuel usage required during maintenance. While the change of grass type has reduced the amount of water consumption, chemicals and fertilisers needed.
Renovations at La Cala have continued around the resort as well, with the recent upgrade of the iconic La Cala clubhouse area. Guests will now be able to enjoy an extended terrace comprising of both shaded and unshaded areas, ideal for all our guests to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Asia course.
La Cala was recently ranked by Golf World as the best 4* resort in Spain, with the America and Europa layouts ranked in Spain’s top 30 courses. In their recently published Top 100 World Resorts list, La Cala was recognised as the 73rd best golf resort in the world.
La Cala Resort also boasts accommodation of the highest standard, including a 107-bedroom hotel, plus an on-site Real Estate project with a selection of newly built properties for sale. Residents can enjoy the luxurious spa and a selection of excellent restaurants and bars.
