Tell us something about how this project started and what remodeling works have been carried out.
Initially, this was the location of Dama de Noche, a nine-hole golf course with lighting system so that you can play at night. Little by little, golf became less important and football was highly demanded by our customers. Thus, we started thinking about relaunching this complex with a new project. Managers thought about me and that is how I started this new professional adventure and we are very excited about it.
In conclusion, at the complex there are four football 11 pitches and three football 7 pitches in full performance, a 3-par golf course that is still lit at night and that can hold pitch and putt games, a Driving Range, a short game area, a putting green, a magnificent Club House with a restaurant and a large parking area.
As you mention, this is the ideal course for beginners and players interested in starting playing golf.
We think that the Adult and Children school is very important. Do not forget I am a professional player and I have been teaching for a long time. (He laughs). Besides, this is a very flat course, easy to walk and thus, the ideal course for middle-aged players; an 18-hole course would be too long for them.
However, is the course adapted to play FootGolf?
Yes, it is. We have adapted the golf course so that this sport can be played because our customers have demanded so. Nevertheless, FootGolf is not a sport that damages the golf course. Groups come to train on Thursday and Saturday.
Banús Executive Golf is ideally located, are you going to change it into a sport centre?
Yes, we are. We think this complex has everything needed to become a sport centre. There is a large parking area where customers can park easily. It is near Marbella, San Pedro, Nueva Andalucía and a stone’s throw away from Puerto Banús. Regarding sports, you can play football, golf and FootGolf at the moment. In the future, we will increase our sport variety and we will include paddle tennis, croquet and a gym.
In addition, we have our Restaurant Divot managed by Ignacio Díez and our chef, Samuel Tineo. We have three different menus: a breakfast menu, a snack menu and a dinner menu designed by our chef. It includes high quality meat and fish dishes and an excellent wine list. Our objective is keeping customers visiting Banús Executive Golf at any time, either to practice their favourite sport or to have dinner with family and friends.
