The 4* Spanish golf resort has been a proud ambassador of Andalusian golf <\/span>over the years. With the historic event taking place in the region later this year, La Cala has been at the forefront of all Solheim Cup activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Members of La Cala\u2019s staff and team <\/span>were given the honour to receive the trophy and <\/span>take the silverware on a tour of the Mijas area. <\/span>After visit<\/span>ing such incredible sights like Mijas Pueblo, Torreon de La Cala de Mijas and <\/span>Senda<\/span> Litoral<\/span> in a traditional horse drawn carriage, the trophy finally made its way to the La Cala <\/span>H<\/span>otel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Landing in theatrical style, the Solheim Cup trophy <\/span>arrived <\/span>in a hot <\/span>air <\/span>balloon <\/span>opposite the La Cala Hotel, landing just in front of the 18<\/span>th<\/span> green on the Asia course<\/span>, and La Cala\u00b4s iconic clubhouse<\/span>.<\/span> Once the trophy was safely in the hands of <\/span>the <\/span>La Cala ambassadors, the Solheim Cup was put on display throughout the resort, for all guests and visitors to see.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting off at <\/span>the <\/span>La Cala Golf Academy, <\/span>all <\/span>junior and summer camp golfers were able to view the trophy, taking pictures and selfies with the inspiring Solheim Cup silverware.<\/span> Next, the trophy moved to <\/span>the La Cala <\/span>hotel reception area, where incoming guests and hotel visitors could stop by and admire the iconic trophy design.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, the Solheim Cup trophy was displayed at <\/span>the<\/span> newly renovated La Cala Clubhouse. Taking centre stage in the Clubhouse, <\/span>the trophy was available for all La Cala residents, guests and visitors to come by and take pictures<\/span>,<\/span> with<\/span> popular activity throughout the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

This included <\/span>the <\/span>recent <\/span>XXV <\/span>Trofeo<\/span> Feria de La Cala de Mijas<\/span> golf tournament winners. La Cala golf course designer, Cabell B. Robinson<\/span>, who also designed Finca <\/span>Cortesin<\/span>,<\/span> was<\/span> in attendance <\/span>to <\/span>present all competition winners with prizes, including Solheim Cup passes <\/span>and <\/span>other <\/span>golf resort play-and-stay<\/span>prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

With just under 50 days left <\/span>until<\/span> the <\/span>start of the <\/span>Solheim Cup in September, La Cala Resort <\/span>is still offering<\/span> limited availability for guests and visitors <\/span>wishing <\/span>to stay <\/span>and enjoy the European vs. USA match-up.<\/span><\/p>\n
