Spain\u2019s La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort, formerly known as Alcaidesa, will begin its elevation to a luxury golf destination this summer with the reopening of its redesigned Links course.<\/span><\/p>\n

Millenium Hospitality<\/a>, a company which specialises in the luxury hotel sector across Spain and Portugal, is overseeing a multi-million euro investment which will put <\/span>La Hacienda on the map as a flagship 36-hole golf resort in southern Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spearheading the project to reconfigure and redesign the existing Alcaidesa Links is experienced course designer, Kurtis Bowman, with an aim of not only improving the layout and conditioning, but ensuring that sustainability is at the heart of the operation to align with La Hacienda\u2019s commitment to green initiatives and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Located in the Cadiz municipality of San Roque, close to Sotogrande, the Links course is scheduled to open in June 2022 and will run along the beachfront with spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A new contemporary clubhouse, driving range and practice area have already been completed ahead of the golf course reopening this summer, while the development of a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, halfway house with restaurant, 51 luxury villas and a beach club will mark the next phase of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Javier Ill\u00e1n, president of Millenium Hospitality, said: \u201cThe new golf course, hotel and dining facilities will complement the stunning real estate to truly transform La Hacienda into a benchmark for five-star tourism and catapult us into Europe\u2019s elite golf resorts.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe project has come at a perfect time with the pent-up demand for golf vacations following the pandemic. The tourism potential is huge in this region due to the accessibility to airports and its picturesque seaside location, all it needed was a high-quality modern hotel. We grabbed the opportunity with both hands!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith new greens that are unique in Spain for their size and undulations, as well as new bunkering and strategic hazards throughout, the course is set to be a thrilling challenge for every level of golfer. A test, but great fun!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

New greenkeeping machinery, a state-of-the-art fleet of buggies and operating software will also be included within the investment to elevate the customer experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

With sustainability at the centre of the transformation, there will also be particular emphasis on providing exceptional customer service moving into the relaunch. La Hacienda was recognised with an International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) award for Outstanding Customer Service in 2021 for its flexibility and efforts throughout the pandemic in adapting to the ever-changing measures and providing a safe environment for all guests.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
