Miguel Angel Jim\u00e9nez started a new project, Miguel Angel Jim\u00e9nez Golf Academy in 2013. He had a clear objective, the school was to become a reference point for those who wanted to learn or improve their golf level. Working under the <\/span><\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/span>name<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span> of Miguel Angel Jim\u00e9ne<\/span><\/span>z meant creating a national and international reference school <\/span><\/span>and thus, incorporating the needed process to make students tr<\/span><\/span>ain, learn and practice so that they <\/span><\/span>achieve the objectives stated<\/span><\/span> in the three existing groups for potential students. These groups are: the students who have never played golf, the ones who want to improve their game and the advanced group <\/span><\/span>who wish to become professionals. Thus, Miguel Angel himself designed and built a nine-hole course, par 3 with his own money. This golf course requires precise strokes and high concentration in short games.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the beginning of the project, he worked in two areas mainly; members and the school. Later he developed the business<\/span><\/span> side<\/span><\/span>, creating a synergy between the school and the sponsors. Now, in 2018 he continuous to grow and evolve as new members of the management team have recently joined. Samuel Cadenas as Assistant Manager and Javi<\/span><\/span>er D\u00edaz as Commercial Manager<\/span><\/span> are the most recent incorporations.<\/span><\/span> We have interviewed them so that they can tell us about the present and future of Miguel Angel Jim\u00e9nez Golf Academy. Fernando Jim\u00e9nez, the manager introduces them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The MAJ Golf Academy project is very busy. New members of t<\/span><\/span>he team have recently joined <\/span><\/span>and new projects have started. Let\u2019s talk about this.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Samuel Cadenas and Javier D\u00edaz joined in Septe<\/span><\/span>mber 2017 to develop projects along<\/span><\/span> two lines mainly. On one hand, commercially, they aim to focus on companies and sponsors and on the other hand, on the day to day management and the group of members.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These two<\/span><\/span> incorporations <\/span><\/span>have been very productive <\/span><\/span>as new agreements have been signed with the Swedish and Finish golf national teams as well as agreements <\/span><\/span>with other golf courses that <\/span><\/span>provide new<\/span><\/span> facilities for our members; also, <\/span><\/span>different golf events have been organized on the Costa del Sol. In conclusion, a giant quality leap in the services that the Academy provides members and sponsors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We know you that your previous work is not related to <\/span><\/span>golf. However, <\/span><\/span>you <\/span><\/span>have worked in the business world, what are your responsibilities in the school?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, as you say I do not belong to the world of golf but I have worked in business before so I know how companies and management works. These last years I have managed private university colleges and business schools in Madrid. I have been responsible for managing school <\/span><\/span>relationship with companies that <\/span><\/span>would like to relate to gol<\/span><\/span>f<\/span><\/span> somehow<\/span><\/span>, whether as sponsors, <\/span><\/span>attending <\/span><\/span>golf <\/span><\/span>beginners\u2019<\/span><\/span> courses, team building or any relationship that establishes a link between the <\/span><\/span>school and consequently golf<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> and companies concerned.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Samuel, you have worked in golf before, tell us about your work in the school.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My work has been related to golf, first in A\u00f1oreta Golf and later as a sales person for Puma Golf and as <\/span><\/span>a <\/span><\/span>Manager in Alhaurin Golf<\/span><\/span>. I have always been in contact with the <\/span><\/span>Academy and in fact, we have <\/span><\/span>talked about joining the team several times but due to different circumstances it has not been possible until now. Personally, it is a pleasure to work with golf professionals that I have known for many years and above all, I feel very proud to be able to make a small contribution to Miguel Angel\u2019s project.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My responsibilities here mainly involve organizing the day to day<\/span><\/span> work<\/span><\/span><\/a>, the relationship with tour operators and boosting the group of members. We have an external league and once a month we go to different golf courses. The last one was Mijas Golf. We have also created <\/span><\/span>the MAJ Match Play Golf <\/span><\/span>Academy Race<\/span><\/span> to Valderrama that will take place in the Academy on 17<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span> March and the<\/span><\/span> final game will be held <\/span><\/span>at Valderrama Golf.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
