La Cala Golf in Mijas offers a green fee and shared buggy from 45€ /player and an 18-hole twilight green fee available since three o’clock from 40€/player up to 11th September. Atalaya Golf & Country Club in Marbella has an “unlimited playing in our two courses” offer in the Old & New Course from 1st-15th September for 260€, as well as a twilight offer from 16.00-17.00 for 40€ and from 17.00 for 37€. The Gran Guadalpin Hotel in Puerto Banús offers an interesting package that includes 4 nights +3 green fees from 374€ or 7 nights+5 green fees from 623€ staying in a double room with breakfast included.
On the other hand, Lauro Golf Resort in Alhaurin de la Torre has 3 special offers during September: a 10 green fee package for 460€, a 20 green fee package for 820€ and also the option of six-month unlimited golf for 1,200€. At Añoreta Golf in Rincón de la Victoria the 1st Nuevo Futuro Charity Golf Tournament will be held on 20th-21st September. It is played in four-player teams (1 green some couple and 1 four ball couple). Price are 35€/player for members and 45€/player for visitors. There are prizes worth over 3,000€ for the best five players and a Fundraising Gala will be hosted on Saturday 21st September at nine o’clock. It is especially significant that some of these golf courses have held some of the most important professional golf championships in Spain. The Costa del Sol has positioned itself as one of the most important leading destinations. Arturo Bernal, the General Manager of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board says “La Costa del Sol offers over 70 golf courses, nearly 70% of the existing courses in Andalucía with a turnover of 1,410 million euros annually”.
For this organization, the golf segment is very important when promoting this destination. It is a highly potential activity that fights seasonality. 491,850 euros have been invested in golf in 2019 and this amount has been used in promotion in trade fairs, professional sessions, FAM trips and marketing campaigns amongst others.
