Key milestones

During this time, many milestones have been reached in the commitment to excellence in care. The General and Digestive Surgery Service and the Urology Service now occupy a prominent position and are benchmarks in their respective fields.  The hospital is also a reference centre for oncological gynaecology, assisted reproduction and obstetrics, with one of the lowest rates of caesarean sections, instrumental births and episiotomies of any private hospital in Andalusia. It was also the first private hospital in the province to be authorised to perform corneal transplants, and its thoracic surgery team is one of the most experienced in Spain in uniportal thoracic surgery, the least invasive treatment for lung cancer. The Haematology and Haemotherapy Service has also pioneered autologous bone marrow transplants.

These are not the only services that have made a difference. The vascular and endovascular surgery team is a benchmark in highly complex venous pathologies and vascular compression syndromes; the ear, nose and throat service is a pioneer in the treatment of vertigo and profound deafness using cochlear implants and implantable ear devices.

Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga also has an Emergency Department that has been consolidated over the years as an example of quality care and differential circuits. The Traumatology Service is also a reference in all bone, traumatic, degenerative, infectious, tumour and sarcoma pathology.

In addition to the Intensive Care Unit for adults, the hospital has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which is the best equipped in the private health sector in Malaga, prepared for the care of extremely premature babies and newborns from the 23rd week of pregnancy.

In addition, Quirónsalud Hospital Málaga offers a new range of health screening and early diagnosis programmes.
