The Global Gift Charity weekend returns to Marbella. The organisation’s founders, María Bravo and Alina Peralta, are set to host the third consecutive edition of this major fund-raising event.
The Global Gift Golf Tournament will be held at La Quinta Golf & Country Club on 19 July, in conjunction with a prize-giving ceremony and lunch attended by the honorary host and invited guests for The Global Gift Gala.
The Global Gift Gala itself will be held on 20 July at the Hotel Gran Meliá Don Pepe Resort Marbella, with Eva Longoria as the honorary host. Thanks to the funds raised at last year’s edition, Maria Bravo y Alina Peralta were able to support three charity organisations – the Eva Longoria Foundation, SOS Foundation and Ser Humano Association in Marbella – donating a total of €81,300 to each. As Marbella mayoress Ángeles Muñoz notes, “The Global Gift Foundation has donated the most money to the city of any private institution throughout its history.”
This year the foundation will be helping these organisations, the Eva Longoria Foundation, Bertín Osborne Foundation and Global Gift Foundation, which in turn will benefit five local organisations: the Ángel Riviere Autism Association, San Pedro Association, Felizia TAMM Association, Parkinson Sol Estepona Association and Cudeca Foundation.
The Global Gift Foundation is the result of many years of hard work and effort, and a special business focus that brings together celebrities, sponsors and charity institutions to organise events that provide financial and media support to taxation-wise organisations.
“Women and children are our main objective,” stress María and Alina. “Children because they are usually the main victims, and women because they remain an easy target in the chauvinist society we still live in.”
This year the choice of organisations benefiting from the Global Gift Foundation’s largesse was decided by public tender, with the support of Marbella Town Hall.
“Of the 24 projects that applied we chose five in accordance with their objectives and requirements.”
María and Alina have been organising charity events for years. They know that each gala means food, work, education and medicine for many children, women and whole families, and that this relies on the generosity of their guests, donors and sponsors.
The Global Gift Foundation currently holds The Global Gift Gala in six destinations – Paris, London, Cannes, Marbella, Mexico and Dubai – with these to be expanded to Russia, Istanbul, Los Angels and Miami in 2015.
Maria Bravo and Alina Peralta are hugely appreciative of the support and confidence placed in them by celebrities right from the start, celebrities who have in turn become world ambassadors for the Global Gift Foundation: Pitbull, Ricky Martin, Will.i.am, Vicente Del Bosque, David Beckham and Deepak Chopra, recipients of the Global Gift Humanitarian Prize at The Global Gift Gala Mexico, Dubai, London, Paris and Marbella; and Alejandro Ramirez Magana, Shemar Moore, Nicole Scherzinger and Zoe Saldana, awarded Global Gift Philanthropreneur and Philanthropist Prizes at The Global Gift Gala Mexico, London, Marbella and Paris. The Global Gift Foundation also has the unconditional support of major global businessmen including Carlos Slim Helú and Farhad Moshiri.
