The recent 27th annual Pinmar golf event at Son Gual, Mallorca’s number-one golf destination, raised more than €65,000 for charity. More than 330 golfers took part in the two-day event, which was won by a team from the 61m motor yacht Mylin IV. And almost 700 people attended the prizegiving and gala dinner at Pueblo Español, and the ‘after party’ at Pacha.
This year’s contribution takes the total contributed to charity in the 27 years of the event to a staggering €765,000. And proceeds from the event will be split between charities determined by the winning team and the organiser Pinmar, the superyacht finishing specialist, and these will include Joves Navegants, Handisports, Tyume Valley Schools, Allen Graham 4 Kidz, Sail 4 Cancer, Serve-on and many more.
Pinmar’s company secretary, Nick Entwisle, said: “Once again, the Son Gual course was in perfect condition despite very heavy rain the day before the tournament, and, as always, the wonderful Son Gual staff looked after us with their habitual care and attention to detail.”
This is the sixth year that Pinmar has hosted its annual charity fundraiser at Golf Son Gual, which has recently reinforced its status as the number-one golf destination in Mallorca, jumping two places to 42 in the new Golf World Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe 2015/16 ranking.
That also confirmed the €30m Thomas Himmel-designed 7,240-yards, par-70 course as the eighth-best in Spain and the number one on the island. Son Gual was also acclaimed earlier this year as ‘best golf course’ by the World of Leading Golf, a corporation representing some of the globe’s most distinctive clubs.
