This Christmas, La Cala Resort invites guests to celebrate the festive season in true Andalusian style, where the rhythm of southern Spain meets the refined traditions of the holidays. Nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean, just 30 minutes from Málaga Airport, the award-winning resort has long been regarded as one of Europe’s premier golf and leisure destinations, drawing discerning guests who seek both tranquillity and refinement. Its three championship golf courses, serene spa and 107-room hotel provide the perfect setting for a season defined by good food, good company and the joy of time well spent.

The resort’s “Very Merry Christmas” programme captures the essence of the holidays in a Mediterranean key: elegant yet unhurried, traditional yet full of local character. Across its terraces, restaurants and manicured grounds, guests are invited to dine, dance and reconnect beneath winter skies that still hold the warmth of the sun.

The celebrations begin with La Cala Resort’s much-loved Sunday Roast at The Clubhouse, served every week from 30 November through to 4 January. It has become a cherished ritual for residents and visitors alike: perfectly roasted meats, crisp Yorkshire puddings and generous seasonal accompaniments enjoyed with a glass of Rioja and views across the fairways. On 7 and 14 December, the experience is enriched by a special Christmas edition of La Cala´s Artisan Market, where local makers present an inspired selection of crafts, jewellery, homeware and gourmet delicacies that reflect the creativity and colour of the region.

On Christmas Eve, La Cala Resort’s La Terraza Restaurant will host an evening to be savoured at leisure. The gourmet buffet features duck foie gras terrine, hand-carved jamón ibérico de bellota, scallops in champagne cream and a live seafood plancha, accompanied by fine wines from Rioja and cava from Parxet. It is an evening that balances tradition with creativity, a candlelit celebration of flavour and festive spirit. The following day, guests will gather once more for a lavish Christmas Day lunch, where roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, milk-fed lamb shoulder and artisan Yule logs take centre stage. Every dish reflects La Cala Resort’s hallmark approach to dining: authentic, generous and prepared with quiet precision.

As General Manager Sean Corte-Real explains: “Christmas at La Cala is about togetherness and a sense of place. The resort takes on a special character at this time of year: the weather is mild, the atmosphere is warm, and every space feels alive with celebration. Whether guests join us for a festive lunch, a few rounds of golf or to ring in the New Year, we want them to feel completely at home.”

As 2025 draws to a close, the celebrations continue on the fairways with La Cala’s End of Year Golf Tournament, a friendly competition held across the resort’s championship courses. Open to guests and visitors alike, it offers golfers the chance to round off the season in style, combining a day of spirited play with the camaraderie that defines La Cala’s golfing community.

The tournament provides the perfect prelude to the resort’s renowned New Year’s Eve celebrations, where two distinctive dining experiences invite guests to choose their perfect setting: a refined tasting menu at La Terraza featuring lobster and venison fillet, or a four-course gala dinner in the Picasso Room complete with live entertainment. As midnight approaches, all paths lead to La Bodega, where a live DJ, late-night snacks and festive surprises welcome 2026 with the kind of warmth and vitality that define La Cala Resort.

Throughout the Christmas and New Year period, the resort’s tranquil setting, mild climate and impeccable service provide the backdrop for a winter escape that feels both indulgent and restorative. Guests can enjoy sunlit rounds on the championship courses, unwind in the award-winning spa, or simply retire to the comfort of their hotel room after an evening of fine dining and festivities. It is a blend of elegance, conviviality and Mediterranean ease that remains La Cala Resort’s signature, where every element of the experience invites guests to linger a little longer.
